Bully Bows wanted to share the story of Sgt. Stubby- America’s first war dog. Stubby was instrumental in inspiring the creation of the United States ‘K-9 Corps. Since then dogs have played a vital role in our military working side by side with our service men and woman keeping them safe. Peace for Pits™ is a Chicago area based rescue that focuses on finding loving, caring homes for “bully” breeds in need of help. Many of these dogs come from “high kill” facilities across Illinois, arriving there as a stray or unfathomably being surrendered by their so called “owners.” Some of these dogs arrive with severe injuries and other health problems due to neglect and or trauma. Our mission is to save as many of these dogs from euthanasia as possible.
I am happy to announce Philly Bully Team is April’s charity of the month!! Philly Bully Team is a 501c3 whose slogan is “Saving all the pitties in our city”. I have been following the work of this wonderful organization for some time now and am truly impressed by their hard work and compassion! Their founders stated out independently rescuing and fostering abused and neglected dogs over 10 years ago. Today their passion has spread to a team of amazing individuals that all work toward a common goal.
Voorhees Animal Orphanage will provide compassionate shelter and adoption services for the animals entrusted to our care with a goal of safely reuniting them with their owners or finding them suitable and permanent new homes. As part of our role in the community at large, we also support pet owners, animal lovers, and companion animals through humane education and outreach.

Lilo’s Promise is a no kill rescue. Although our dogs are safe and are not in danger of being put down, countless others out there still are. We ask that you spread the word on our wonderful dogs for adoption in the hopes of finding them their forever homes. Once they are successfully placed, we can offer safety to another dog who desperately needs and deserves an opportunity.
Why Bully Bows? – The idea came after rescuing Kaighn, my amazing Pit Bull from a local shelter. He had a tough first year or two of his life and has settled very nicely into his new home. Kaighn wanted the world to know the reputation of Pitties wasn’t true. Like so many other dogs in his predicament, he was treated poorly, fought to survive, and longed for the love and affection of a human companion.
